About Daniel Walker

Hi Everyone,

My name is Daniel Walker and I am a biathlete on the Australian National Team.

Summer Training in Russia

I began the sport in 2010, and since then have progressed to an international level now racing on the IBU Cup Circuit. My pathway to this level has included two Youth/Junior World Championships (2012 & 2013), IBU Cup team member since 2013 and being placed on the Sochi 2014 Olympic Shadow Team.

My most note-worthy achievement to date came during the 2013 Youth/Junior World Championships in Austria, when in the individual race, I was able to place 30th.

Taking me on this trip is my coach Nick Almoukov, who I met in 2010 and began to work directly with in 2013.

I have also just begun studying a Bachelor of Laws at Notre Dame University in Sydney.

During the 2013/14 biathlon season I hope to achieve 15% behind the leader in an IBU Cup race at some point throughout the season.
